Dos pescadores, dos peces.

con su nuevo amigito.

con la otro mitad del doble.

Rastamen vibration.
INSHORE
The rains are letting up in the mountains and the river mouths are running clear so the action is picking up with more Snook and Snapper moving around now. And Roosterfish are being caught daily.
OFFSHORE
There are still a lot of Dorado being caught daily with double digits very common.
Sailfish are being seen daily with one or two being boated but Dorado are taking everything that is being trolled so Sails have to get in line.
FRESHWATER
The rivers are already starting to go down but the fishing is great with Machaca spawning and Roncador and Snook chasing fry.

Nathan Henk makes a new friend.

Nathan meets his new friend's big brother, with help from Pepsi.
INSHORE
The Snapper have been very active and we are still seeing them come after trolled livebait and lures, as well as poppers and plugs that are cast to structure. Roosterfish, as always are our first target and we are seeing them every day.
OFFSHORE
More Sailfish are being seen now but Dorado are still the main event with everybody getting to fight one everyday.
FRESHWATER
The rivers are perfect now for light tackle trips. Machaca, Roncodor and Snook are all eating well, but we are catching mainly Machaca. With the rivers starting to settle and the volume decrease, the Machaca are starting to spawn so hungry fish are jumping on almost anything that hits the water.

OFFSHORE
Dorado are everywhere and boats are landing double digits some days. Sailfish are being raised everyday and an occaisional Blue Marlin have been seen recently.
FRESHWATER
The rivers are perfect right now for float fishing with lots of Machaca ready to take flies or lures. The Roncador have spawned and streams of fry are running up the banks bringing Snook, Machaca and even Ronco’s to the banks to eat.

OFFSHORE
Sailfish are being caught daily but not in large numbers yet. Dorado are everywhere and are being caught in double digits.
FRESHWATER
The rivers are nice right now with the levels still high but the waters aren’t roiled like they were through October. Machaca are eating as are Roncodores and small gualaje Snook.

Newly wed Beth Herbert gets hers.

Ryan Herbert gets the "His" part of the honeymoon "His and Hers".

Beth Herbert and Mac.

Ryan, you may kiss the bride!
INSHORE –
The fishing has been very good for the conditions recently. The rains have just started to let up,(two days now with no rain) so the rivers have been clear at the mouths. Yesterday clients caught Mackerel, Jacks and Snapper.
OFFSHORE –
Dorado are still the main target but debris lines are not as common now so trolling is the way to find them. There are plenty. Sailfish are being seen daily and some Marlin have been raised recently. Wahoo are still being seen around structure.
FRESHWATER –
The rivers have been looking good and fishing well. On Saturday Machaca in the 3 pound range were eating size 2 weighted streamers in the afternoon on the lower part of the Savegre.

Jevon Welch with his friend Red.

Mike Vatalaro with a good sized Needlefish or Houndfish.
INSHORE – Roosterfish, Snapper, Mackerel, Corvina, Trippletail, Jack Crevalle and others were caught this week inshore. Rains are still falling in the afternoons and creating current lines close to shore as well as farther out. Fishing has been good with Banglas, and Lookdowns but fish have been taken on artificials.
OFFSHORE – Lots of stuff floating along current lines is producing good numbers of Dorado and Sailfish. The trash lines have been anywhere from 10 miles to 25 miles out and most of the time there are multiple lines found. Marlin are being caught weekly but not in large numbers yet.
FRESHWATER – Rain, rain, rain has been keeping the rivers from being clear but the higher water is not a problem so much as water color and the amount of debris floating down stream. When they are fishable, the fishing is great for Machaca and Snook. Contact Pez Rey for a report on recent conditions.

Lauren King and her first Roosterfish.

Rooster-face!
INSHORE – The fishing has been very good with a variety of species being seen this week. Corvina, Snapper, Mackerel, Dorado, Trippletail, and of course Roosterfish were all caught this past week.
OFFSHORE – The fishing has been all about Dorado. With the heavy rains that are falling locally, there has been plenty of debris floating along the current lines to keep Dorado interested. There have been Marlin and Wahoo taken on the offshore sea mounts but not on a daily basis. Sailfish are being caught daily in small numbers.
FRESHWATER – The rivers have been high and dirty but some days are fishable and are fishing good. Machaca are the main species. Contact Pez Rey to see how the rivers are at the moment.

Hello Folks! Sorry for the absence of fishing reports but I wanted to leave the photos of my best friend Bella up at the top of the page as a tribute for a while. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Fortunately the fishing has been as good as always.
Inshore – The Roosterfishing is great with Gallos being seen every trip. Jacks, Mackerel, Trevally and Snapper are caught regularly and Snook and Corvina are near the shore and rivermouths. There have been some big swells so we recommend that you check with us to see what the shore fishing will be like. We have had Humpback whales in the area with calves for the past two months and we are spotting them almost daily.
Offshore – Sailfish are caught daily and sometimes not far out. Dorado are everywhere, outside of the coastal current lines.
Freshwater – The rivers are for the most part high and dirty, but they clear up from time to time, so contact us to see if the conditions allow a trip. The Machaca have been eating flies as well as spinners when they can see them.

Alexia's first fishy!

Happy to see the Whales.

Su primer Gallo!

Tambien, su primero!

Hooray! Up she rises off the starboard bow!

Arrr! Tharr she blows matey!

Lee Brooks and a pollito.

Perfecto!
Inshore – This week clients were able to catch Roosters with Blue Runners which is good because with some heavy currents the past week has been difficult for catching Lookdowns. Snook are in the river mouths and on the beaches and will eat live bait and artificials when they are actively feeding.
Offshore – Dorado are the name of the game right now with numerous being taken each day. Peanuts are everywhere but there are nice bulls being caught by lucky folks each day.
Freshwater – The rivers are great right now for casting flies and spinning lures to Machaca, Roncador and Snook. The river float trips do require a lot of casting in order to cover every bit of water possible but they are rewarding. The light tackle fishing is great and the scenery is beautiful.

Hold 'em tight, he's still got a lot of fight left in him!

Sergio gets a welcome gift from Pepsi.
Inshore – The Rooster and Snook fishing has been very good. The Roosters are liking Lookdowns and Goggle Eyes around structure and beaches. Last week Larry and Oscar Sanchez went out looking for Roosters and a good time and were happy to find both. Snook are hunting in the river mouths and on the beaches, in tight. Last week Pepsi helped clients catch a couple around 15 lbs. and they lost some much bigger. They are in tight and the weather and swells are determining when you can get in close to try for Snook. Captain Pepsi is one of the only guides around with enough experience to take folks in close, but even then it is done at his discretion when he knows he can both keep clients safe and have good shot at fish.
Contact@pezrey.com for more current conditions.
Offshore – Dorado are everywhere but most of the fish that are being caught are juveniles weighing from 8 to 20 lbs. with a nice bull now and then. The action is great with a fly rod right now around floating debris and offshore structure.
Freshwater – The Machaca are aggressive right now with the flows rising gradually between flash flooding and periods with minimal rain. They are taking most every opportunity to feed and are eating weighted streamers or spinning lures.
