INSHORE

The rains are letting up in the mountains and the river mouths are running clear so the action is picking up with more Snook and Snapper moving around now.  And Roosterfish are being caught daily.

OFFSHORE

There are still a lot of Dorado being caught daily with double digits very common.

Sailfish are being seen daily with one or two being boated but Dorado are taking everything that is being trolled so Sails have to get in line.

FRESHWATER

The rivers are already starting to go down but the fishing is great with Machaca spawning and Roncador and Snook chasing fry.

INSHORE

The Snapper have been very active and we are still seeing them come after trolled livebait and lures, as well as poppers and plugs that are cast to structure.  Roosterfish, as always are our first target and we are seeing them every day.

OFFSHORE

More Sailfish are being seen now but Dorado are still the main event with everybody getting to fight one everyday.

FRESHWATER

The rivers are perfect now for light tackle trips.  Machaca, Roncodor and Snook are all eating well, but we are catching mainly Machaca.  With the rivers starting to settle and the volume decrease, the Machaca are starting to spawn so hungry fish are jumping on almost anything that hits the water.

INSHORE

The fishing has been great for Snapper recently with some nice 20 to 30 pounders landed in the week.  Roosterfish are eating Goggle eyes and Lookdowns and the Jack Crevalle are keeping people busy these days.

OFFSHORE

Sailfish are being caught daily but not in large numbers yet.  Dorado are everywhere and are being caught in double digits.

FRESHWATER

The rivers are nice right now with the levels still high but the waters aren’t roiled like they were through October.  Machaca are eating as are Roncodores and small gualaje Snook.

INSHORE – Roosterfish, Snapper, Mackerel, Corvina, Trippletail, Jack Crevalle and others were caught this week inshore.  Rains are still falling in the afternoons and creating current lines close to shore as well as farther out.  Fishing has been good with Banglas, and Lookdowns but fish have been taken on artificials.

OFFSHORE – Lots of stuff floating along current lines is producing good numbers of Dorado and Sailfish.  The trash lines have been anywhere from 10 miles to 25 miles out and most of the time there are multiple lines found.  Marlin are being caught weekly but not in large numbers yet.

FRESHWATER – Rain, rain, rain has been keeping the rivers from being clear but the higher water is not a problem so much as water color and the amount of debris floating down stream.  When they are fishable, the fishing is great for Machaca and Snook.  Contact Pez Rey for a report on recent conditions.

Inshore – The river mouths are dirty this week with a lot of rains in the mountains.  This produces a large “current line” that can hold Snook and Corvina that patrol in and out of the color changes.  This week Captain Pepsi caught Roosters in the 20 to 30 lbs. range, Mackerel, Trippletail and Trevally.

Offshore – There has been a lot of debris pushed out into the ocean by the rains and the Dorado are everywhere.  Sailfish were caught this week by every boat but Dorado is what is keeping everybody busy.  Wahoo have also been taken around the seamounts.

Freshwater – The rivers are really hit or miss right now with the color and flows changing daily.  Contact us to see what yesterday’s conditions were like.

Hello Folks!  Sorry for the absence of fishing reports but I wanted to leave the photos of my best friend Bella up at the top of the page as a tribute for a while.  Sorry for any inconvenience.

Fortunately the fishing has been as good as always.

Inshore – The Roosterfishing is great with Gallos being seen every trip.  Jacks, Mackerel, Trevally and Snapper are caught regularly and Snook and Corvina are near the shore and rivermouths.  There have been some big swells so we recommend that you check with us to see what the shore fishing will be like.  We have had Humpback whales in the area with calves for the past two months and we are spotting them almost daily.

Offshore – Sailfish are caught daily and sometimes not far out.  Dorado are everywhere, outside of the coastal current lines.

Freshwater – The rivers are for the most part high and dirty, but they clear up from time to time, so contact us to see if the conditions allow a trip.  The Machaca have been eating flies as well as spinners when they can see them.

Do we have any krill flies for Humpbacks?

Inshore – Great fishing these days with just about everything being caught inshore including Roosterfish, Snook, Snapper, Mackerel, Tuna, Skipjack, Bonito, even Sailfish and Wahoo are being seen.  The Humpbacks we are seeing are about the only thing we aren’t prepared to cast to.

Offshore – More Sailfish are being caught recently but Dorado are still the most consistent action.  Tuna are being caught when they are closer to the surface and being followed by predators.

Freshwater – The rivers are fishing great but are up and down and all around right now and the color changes frequently.  Call us for daily updates.

It's a tripple (with a Trippletail)!

Inshore – Variety this week has been the norm.  On one half day trip Pepsi’s client’s landed 3 Roosterfish of 25lbs. and up, 2 Snook in the 10 to 15 lbs. range, a 15 lbs. Cubera Snapper, a couple of Sierra Mackerel and some Trippletail.  Other days have seen Roosters, Snapper, Snook, Mackerel, Jacks, Skipjack, Bonito, Needlefish, and others.

Offshore – Dorado are the hot item and there are plenty around.  Wahoo and Sailfish are being caught also but Dorado are the main bite.

Freshwater – Machaca are still being caught as well as Snook and Roncador but the conditions are changing rapidly these days so it’s best if you contact us when you are in the area to see what it’s looking like.

Inshore – Roosterfish have been eating a little bit of everything, Lookdowns, Goggle-eyes and Bluerunner.  This week, nice Snapper have been taken around structure and Snook have been caught close to the beaches and river mouths.

Offshore – Sailfish are being seen daily but aren’t necessarily eating what they come up to.  Dorado are happy to eat just about anything, and Tuna are with the birds and Dolphin.  Bottom fishing on seamounts has been productive, rain or shine.

Freshwater – The rivers are nice but constantly changing color and levels so the fishing is unpredictable.  When it’s good though…

Let's use him as a teaser for a bigger one!

Inshore – This week clients were able to catch Roosters with Blue Runners which is good because with some heavy currents the past week has been difficult for catching Lookdowns.  Snook are in the river mouths and on the beaches and will eat live bait and artificials when they are actively feeding.

Offshore – Dorado are the name of the game right now with numerous being taken each day.  Peanuts are everywhere but there are nice bulls being caught by lucky folks each day.

Freshwater – The rivers are great right now for casting flies and spinning lures to Machaca, Roncador and Snook.  The river float trips do require a lot of casting in order to cover every bit of water possible but they are rewarding.  The light tackle fishing is great and the scenery is beautiful.
